Wolves have had a superb end to the Championship season and many supporters are wondering whether things might've been much better, had Paul Lambert been employed much earlier on this campaign.

The Midlanders had a tough run under former manager Walter Zenga and despite taking over before Christmas, former Villa man Paul Lambert struggled to get things going at Molineux too.

But with the end of the season in sight and safety well and truly in the bag, all the tools are ready at the club to push for a top-six run next season.

The financial investment will be there too, which for some players at the club, will be a worry.

And for £2.5 million-rated striker Joe Mason, the end of the season can't come quick enough and a change of environment too.

The former Cardiff City man has seriously struggled this campaign at Wolves, having made the move to the club last January and he's a player that really doesn't appear to have a future at the club.

During his early days at Cardiff City, he was known for his pace and eye for goal but since then, he's quite simply gone off the boil.

When he does get the chance, that confidence that swelled through his performances a couple of years ago just isn't there, and he screams of a player that has been lost during all of the managerial changes at the helm.

For the sake of his career and Wolves' push for the promotion places next season, it's certainly better that Mason moves on this summer.

Plenty of clubs would bring him in and a change would be best for both parties.
