Atlanta United are one of the new up-and-coming sides in the MLS and there's one player in their midst's who Leeds United should certainly be keeping an eye on this summer.

The man in question? Josef Martinez, the little-known Venezuelan forward who has been tearing the division apart as one of the newer MLS franchises aim to get among the best in the States.

Atlanta have had a cracking start to life in the Eastern Conference, winning two of their opening three games, with Martinez single-handedly leading their charge up the table.

He's scored five goals already this campaign as his team have comfortably rolled over the likes of Minnesota and the Chicago Fire, who of course, signed former Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger last week.

But it's the former Torino man who has been really making a name for himself in the States this season, with his pace, movement and ability to find the back of the net impressing the whole of the MLS world in Atalata's debut season in the top flight.

You wonder whether he's the sort of player Leeds United might want to bring in to challenge Chris Wood in the striking ranks next season. He'd certainly bring that little something different to the side- he's a quick individual with bags of movement and skill.

On three occasions already this season he's rounded the keeper to score comfortably and if he continues in this stead, you can see more and more sides coming in trying to poach him away from the ever-expanding MLS franchise.

When he made the move to Torino, he looked to be a player that would really forge a career here in Europe. But making the move to the MLS might have been the move that will really launch his career into the worldwide spotlight going forward.

Leeds are going to need additions this summer and the £1.7million-rated man could be the sort of wildcard signing that sees the Whites challenge in whatever division they end up in next season.
