There's a big season on the horizon for Birmingham City and Harry Redknapp, who will want to show more than what was on display during most of the previous campaign.

The Blues struggled dreadfully under former flame Gianfranco Zola and it's blindingly obvious going forward that things need to change at St Andrews.

But in Harry Redknapp, they have a man that managed to pull things together last minute last time out and a manager who has plenty of experience at this level.

And there's one man we at the FLW think would be a superb addition to the squad this summer and that's QPR striker Conor Washington.

The Northern Ireland international has been linked with a move to St Andrews over the past week and there's thought that Ian Holloway will be shaking up the QPR squad, in what will be his first summer in-charge at the club.

£1.7million-rated Washington is a player that hasn't shown quite as much potential as he perhaps should have during his time at Loftus Road, having made the move from Peterborough back in January 2016.

But the former postman is a hard-working player that has been played out-of-position on more occasions than he might've liked.

Eight goals in 43 appearances this season doesn't mark the best of returns in the slightest but moving forward, he's a man that will get into goalscoring opportunities.

Birmingham struggled for goals last time out and there's thought that they will need some reinforcements if they're to pick things up next season.

Washington would be a good start and a player that can do both the running and the goalscoring when given the chance.
