The £1.7m-rated Leeds United man that could kick-start Zola’s reign at Birmingham

It’s been a dreadful season for Marcus Antonsson at Leeds United, and there are few Whites fans that are giving the £2million summer signing a chance of ever making it at Elland Road under Garry Monk.

The former Kalmar man has struggled for game-time and form since joining the club in the summer, with Chris Wood being pretty immovable from the first-team over the course of the season.

He’s scored just one Championship goal all campaign and compared to the former, he showed at his old club, it’s just not happened for him at Elland Road.

Which is why we think he should move on this summer and if there’s one team that is in need of a fresh start in the Championship right now, it’s struggling Birmingham City.

Gianfranco Zola is still trying to find the right ingredients to string wins together but we think this could be a transfer that suits both parties.

Birmingham have been struggling for goals all season and despite signing Lukas Jutkiewicz in January, he hasn’t hit the back of the net as often as would have liked.

Antonsson scored 22 goals in 37 games for Kalmar in just under 18 months with the club, which shows there is a striking pedigree there somewhere, it just needs to be rediscovered.

The Leeds fans don’t seem to fussed about the 25-year-old sticking around in the slightest and with Zola really needing to find a solution to his own woes at St Andrews, this could prove to be a move that makes no sense, that ends up really working.

Blues fans- would you like to see Antonsson at the club this summer? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
