Derby County will be looking to put their automatic promotion push back on track in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend, but standing in their way will be fierce rivals, Nottingham Forest.

Gary Rowett’s side are on a six-match winless streak in the Championship, which has led to them slipping nine points adrift of the top-two.

The Rams will be looking to turn things back in their favour this weekend, when they travel to the City Ground to face Forest on Sunday afternoon.

Here at FLW, we believe one man that will be key to unlocking Aitor Karanka’s side will be Kasey Palmer, who in recent weeks has stepped up for Derby despite their slump.

Palmer, valued at £1.35m with Transfermarkt, arrived at Pride Park on-loan during the January transfer window from Chelsea, and has two goals in his last four appearances, finding the net in the draws with Leeds United and Reading.

The 21-year-old, who won promotion with Huddersfield Town last season, also laid on Andi Weimann’s goal on Tuesday evening in the 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

The youngster’s positive style has been a shining light in recent weeks, and when Derby meet an in-form Forest side, Palmer could be key.

Things haven’t been going well in recent weeks for the Rams, but Palmer’s form has to be applauded.

The on-loan Chelsea star could be key to Derby leaving the City Ground with three points.
