It’s been a slightly underwhelming season at Pride Park for Derby County, who will be looking to rebuild under Gary Rowett this summer.
The Rams have one of the better squads in the decision but manage to underachieve most seasons and will certainly be looking to push for the automatic promotion places next time out.
And in Gary Rowett, they have a manager who knows this level well having had a superb couple of seasons at Birmingham City, so he’s in an excellent position to build over the coming months.
And there’s one man we think would do a fantastic job at Pride Park next season and that’s £1.28million-rated winger Steven Pineaar, who has been part of a poor Sunderland squad this season.
Now 35-years-old, he’s out of contract this summer and would be available on a free transfer. He’s probably no longer at Premier League level but he’s the sort of player that would do a real job for Derby County down at Pride Park.
They’ve been calling out for a decent player with experience for years now. Their squad has been struggling to pull together at the most important part of the season and their capitulation this campaign has completely summed up the story the club has been facing for years now.
Pineaar has done some great things across the years and has proved that he’s a very decent player when playing well too.
Derby fans- would a man of Pineaar’s experience add something to the squad that has been missing over the past few years? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
