A number of Birmingham City supporters were frustrated with the performance of forward Scott Hogan in front of goal as the Blues were forced to settle for a point in their 1-1 draw at Barnsley.

Birmingham were aiming to get back to winning ways after they suffered a frustrating 2-0 defeat at home to Fulham last time out in the Championship.

Lee Bowyer would have been hoping his side could back towards the sort of rampant form they showed in their 5-0 thrashing of Luton Town.

However, the Blues were forced to settle for a draw at Barnsley after they could only score once from behind after the hosts took the lead inside the opening six minutes of the game.

Hogan should have headed into the contest full of confidence after he managed to register his first two league goals of the campaign in the Blues’ last away game at Luton Town.

The 29-year-old though was guilty of missing two really presentable chances, with one of those coming when through one on one against Barnsley keeper Bradley Collins who denied him with a really good save.

Overall, Hogan managed to have just 15 touches of the ball and when the chances came his way he was unable to take them. The forward is capable of scoring important goals but he needs to do better at times with his wastefulness in the final third.

It also highlights why Birmingham are in the market for another forward before the window closes, with the Blues being linked with a move for Watford's Troy Deeney.

Many Birmingham fans were frustrated with the forward missing some presentable chances in front of goal and hope to see him perform better in the coming weeks.
