‘That’s us losing to Barnsley’ – Westwood red sees plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans concerned

Sheffield Wednesday got their season off to a fine start with a comfortable 3-1 win against Reading this afternoon.
The Owls put the Royals to bed with a disciplined performance which saw goals from new signing Kadeem Harris, birthday boy Sam Hutchinson, and a late strike from Lucas Joao seal all three points for the Owls down in Berkshire.
However, the win was in doubt at one point during the afternoon, as goalkeeper Kieren Westwood saw red for bringing down Reading winger Mo Barrow outside the box.
Although the Owls did indeed manage to hang on to the three points and added a third goal in injury time, the news around Westwood’s red was met with disappointment from the Wednesday fans, who are now concerned that the stopper will miss up to three games.
Westwood is likely to only miss the one game though given the current rules around red cards, but that didn’t stop Wednesday fans showing their concerns on Twitter.
With that then, we at FLW took a look at just how the Owls fans reacted to Westwood’s red card…
