The improvement from Leeds United this season has been absolutely remarkable with Marcelo Bielsa doing a brilliant job as manager.

It feels a long time since Paul Heckingbottom was in the Elland Road dugout but remarkably it was just a year ago that he was appointed Leeds boss.

He was sacked as manager of the Whites at the end of the 2017/18 season with a win percentage of just 25% after guiding the club to a disappointing mid-table finish and is yet to return to management.

But that looks like it could all be about to change with the 41-year-old closing in on the vacant Hibs job in the Scottish Premier League.

They apparently want the successor to Neil Lennon to be somebody capable of bringing through young talent and making the club cheaper to run, settling on Heckingbottom as the perfect man for that job.

He did not exactly leave Elland Road as a popular figure so it is no surprise that the reaction of Leeds fans to the news was far from positive...
