George Puscas opened his Championship account for Reading this weekend as they comprehensively beat Cardiff 3-0 at the Madejski Stadium.

The Romanian scored first after a magnificent run saw the striker dribble from inside his own half all the way to the Bluebirds' penalty area where he fired past Alex Smithies.

The 23-year-old then got his and Reading's second when he beat Aden Flint to a cross to touch home before half-time. John Swift wrapped up the three points, before Yakou Meite missed a penalty.

Signing from Inter Milan, the Royals reportedly beat Championship rivals Birmingham City to the signature of the forward.

Birmingham sold star striker Che Adams to Southampton in the summer, whilst captain Michael Morrison also left although on a free - to Reading.

It's yet to be seen whether missing out on signing Puscas will come back to haunt the Blues, however, he has currently scored the same amount of goals this season as the Birmingham squad combined.
