Leeds United have dropped out of the race to sign Andy Yiadom from Barnsley.

Football journalist Phil Hay is reporting that Leeds had their reservations about signing Yiadom because they were unsure about signing another right-back or a right-footed left-back.

Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom had been linked with a reunion with the 26-year-old, who he brought to Barnsley from Barnet two years ago.

The Ghana international has played over 60 games for the Tykes over the last couple of seasons but he is not going to renew his expiring contract after his side suffered relegation to the third tier.

Reading are now favourites to sign with him journalist Andy Giddings reporting that Yiadom is set for a medical at the Madejski Stadium ahead of his move.

Leeds fans were discussing the fact that they have pulled out of the race to sign the versatile player because they are likely to stick with their current options of Luke Ayling, Gaetano Berardi and Lewie Coyle.

Here are the best responses to Hay's update.
