Portsmouth striker John Marquis has issued an interesting verdict on manager Kenny Jackett's tactical approach following the south-coast side's 1-0 victory over Lincoln on Tuesday.

Marquis scored the winning goal in the 28th minute against the Imps as he helped his side secure their fourth league win of the season after the Fratton Park outfit's difficult start to the campaign.

Jackett's side currently find themselves sitting 16th in the table after playing 12 matches, but Pompey would have been hoping to be much higher-placed at this stage following their promotion push last term.

Marquis, who was signed from Doncaster over the summer, has now issued his verdict on Pompey's mentality heading into matches by claiming Jackett's playing style differs to that of other managers he has worked under.

BBC reporter Andrew Moon shared Marquis' comments via his Twitter account on Thursday afternoon:

Plenty of Portsmouth supporters responded to Marquis' assessment of Jackett's mentality, with many of them describing it as an intriguing statement to come from within the camp, while some have also labelled it as a sign of the striker's frustrations.
