Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce faces fresh problems after Leandro Bacuna received a six-match suspension for his dismissal last weekend, reports the club’s official website.

Bacuna received a red card in the 94th minute of last Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Derby County, after reacting angrily toward the linesman’s decision to award the Rams a throw-in.

The midfielder appeared to bump into the assistant referee with his chest whilst disputing the decision.

The 25-year old has made 24 appearances for Villa this season, but is now set to miss a large part of remainder of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Bacuna will miss clashes with promotion chasing Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday, as Villa look to salvage some pride following a disappointing season.

Villa did not appear to miss Bacuna on Tuesday night, as they ran out 2-0 winners over Bristol City, moving Bruce’s side to 15th in the Championship table.
