Charlton midfielder Jonny Williams is having a medical with Cardiff City, Addicks boss Lee Bowyer has told the South London Press.

Williams has been a regular in the Charlton side this season, scoring twice in 21 appearances, with his last goal coming in the hammering of AFC Wimbledon last month.

However, the Welsh international, who'll be hoping to be included in Ryan Giggs' squad for the European Championships this summer, is out of contract in the summer, and the Addicks therefore appear on course to cash-in on the midfielder to avoid letting him leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Williams joined Charlton from Crystal Palace in 2018, and was part of the sides that were both promoted to the Championship and then relegated last season - turning out more than 60 times in all competitions during his two-and-a-half seasons.

And now Williams is set for a return to the second-tier, and South London Press believe that the deal which will see the midfielder move to the Welsh capital is for a fee of around £200,000.
