‘That is beautiful news’ – Ipswich fans are loving this

Paul Hurst has been announced as the new Ipswich Town manager on a three-year deal.

The Tractor Boys finished the season in 12th place which was disappointing because they were expecting improvement under Mick McCarthy whose style of play wasn’t exciting fans in the slightest. McCarthy didn’t even finish the season with the club because he left after the Barnsley win with his contract set to run out at the end of the season.

Hurst’s season also finished in disappointment, but in a different manner because Shrewsbury lost 2-1 to Rotherham in the League One Play-Off Final. They finished the regular season eight points ahead of the Millers, but were unable to utilise that advantage when it mattered most.

Therefore, this appointment is good for both parties because Hurst leaves the Shrews on a high, which he would have struggled to match next season, while the Ipswich fans have an exciting young manager to lead them forwards.
