West Brom have confirmed that Jimmy Shan has left Albion after 13 years at the club, with the final few months spent as the caretaker manager.

The 40-year-old was handed the top job on a temporary basis after Darren Moore was sacked and ended up as the man tasked with guiding the Baggies to the Premier League when a permanent replacement wasn't named at the time.

However, defeat to Aston Villa in the play-offs meant Albion missed out on promotion and Slaven Bilic has since been appointed as the new boss.

It was initially believed that Shan would stay on as part of the backroom team under the Croatian but the club confirmed yesterday that he would be moving on.

And, Shan took to Twitter to send a passionate message to the fans after the announcement, which thanked them for their support and also explained how much he enjoyed working at the club.
