Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the threat of administration and a possible points deduction has been seen off.

The Championship club released a statement on their website from chairman Ken Anderson explaining the club’s narrow escape from the clutches of incurring a points deduction and transfer embargo.

News broke yesterday that Wanderers were on the brink of being put into administration and incurring a points deduction over an unpaid loan.

Had the club slipped into the financial black hole, they would have been under a transfer embargo for two years on top of having a minimum of 12 points docked.

But after paying off the loan and other smaller club liabilities, the club will not be facing administration, nor will points be deducted and the threat of a transfer embargo has been banished.

It is a good day for Trotters fans after a nervy couple of days amidst the real threat of administration.

With that said, here’s how the Bolton Wanderers supporters reacted on Twitter to the positive news that the club has avoided administration.
