Oxford United have revealed that they have declined Blackpool's request to speak to U's head coach Karl Robinson over the vacant manager's position.

The Oxford gaffer has been at the helm since March 2018 and has had a successful time at The Kassam Stadium with 47 wins from 116 games.

He signed a new contract last summer lasting until the summer of 2022 as he looks to guide them into the top six.

The 39-year-old has steered the side into eighth with the play-off places just a point away despite Oxford's dip in form a couple of weeks ago.

Robinson has since got the U's back on track with three successive wins in the league. The latest result was a 3-0 success against Accrington Stanley in front of their home supporters last night.
