Charlton Athletic slipped to their third league defeat of the season on Wednesday night as Swansea City came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at The Valley.

The Addicks had raced into an early lead courtesy of Jonathan Leko's second-minute goal, but Yan Dhanda and Andre Ayew then both struck either side of half-time for the visitors who ended their three-game winless run.

Charlton entered the match aiming for back-to-back wins following their impressive 2-1 victory over promotion-chasing Leeds United on Saturday, but they failed to overcome the test of Swansea who now climb to the Championship's summit.

Lee Bowyer made a total of four changes to the side following the weekend victory as Adam Matthews, Sam Field, Erhun Oztumer and Jason Pearce all entered the starting line-up.

However, Bowyer's men failed to secure a positive result against the Swans despite opening the scoring so early on, with the Charlton Twitter account claiming the team were "so, so unlucky" to have not secured at least a point.

Plenty of Charlton supporters responded to this assessment of the match, with there appearing to be mixed feeling among the fan base regarding the quality of the Addicks' performance.
