Plenty of Birmingham City fans have taken to social media to discuss Blues head coach Pep Clotet's decision to substitute Jeremie Bela in the 2-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship last night.

The Blues produced a poor performance and were comfortably beaten by Mark Warburton's side at St Andrew's - with goals from Grant Hill and Bright Osayi-Samuel either side of half-time.

It was a lacklustre display from Birmingham, with a number of players producing performances well below their usual standard.

Bela, who joined the Blues last month, was the only player to really threaten and looked most likely to open up the QPR defence.

However, the French forward was surprisingly substituted by Clotet early into the second half and replaced by Odin Bailey. It's fair to say that the decision to take the attacker off didn't go down too well with many Birmingham supporters.

During a the game last night, a Blues fan posted in the Birmingham City Football Club From The Cradle To The Grave Facebook group, saying: "He’s took Bela off. The best player on the park. Can’t believe that."

Plenty of Birmingham fans were quick to comment on the post on Facebook and give their thoughts the decision.

Some fans were furious with the substitution, while others were quick to defend Clotet, pointing out that Bela picked up a knock during the game. Here is a look at the best responses from Blues supporters...

Ian Metcalfe: And we win a free kick in Bela territory.

Mike Shaw: Maghoma stays on, Bela goes off... terrible management decision. What does Maghoma do to keep his place in this team? I'm staggered.

Stefan Clarkson: He’s dreadful. We’ve seen enough of what Maghoma can do over the years & that’s not a lot. Shouldn’t be near the team. Now Maghoma is where Bela was playing. Pathetic from Pep. Awful. KRO.

Steve Masters: Bela was taken off to prevent further injury to a strain. You could see him holding his leg just before he got subbed.

Gavin Workman: So why not bring on Montero then? Like for like.. Pep's subs every week are terrible.

Andy Pacey: Clueless sub!

Mick Steward: He got a groin injury.

Roy Attwood: He was stretching his groin start of second half. Precautionary measure suggested by the Blues medical staff.

Calum-Jon Rolph: Had a groin injury and complained about it at half-time. Wanted to see if he could run it off in the second half, obviously couldn’t, gaffer took him off.
