Phil Parkinson endured perhaps the worst possible start to life as Sunderland manager on Saturday afternoon, as his side were between 1-0 by Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.

In a game which saw Sunderland enjoy the majority of possession but register just one shot on target, and allow their hosts to take twice as many shots as them in total (as per BBC Sport), it would be Darius Charles' 29th minute strike from inside the Sunderland area, that would be enough to secure the three points for Wycombe.

Following that defeat, Sunderland are now tenth in League One after 12 games of the season, seven points adrift of Wycombe in the second automatic promotion place.

Taking to Twitter after the match, the vast majority of Sunderland fans were far from happy with their side's performance at Adams Park, with some suggesting that the club's players need to take responsibility for their current situation.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
