West Brom supporters, cast your minds back to August 12th 2016, where the club announced that James Chester have left to join Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

This news didn't go down well with Baggies supporters, many of whom thought that the Welshman could do a good job for (at the time) Tony Pulis' side.

See how West Brom supporters reacted to his departure at the time below...

So it's safe to say that West Brom supporters weren't best pleased with his departure at the time, and he certainly would have been good enough for their squad.

Chester has gone on to become a crucial player for Aston Villa, and is currently the club captain, which speaks volumes about what he brings to the Villans.

Having made 101 appearances for Villa, he has been a cool-head in the Villa defence, and is one of the most reliable defenders to rely upon at the club.

Chester also has 35 international caps to his name for Wales and certainly will be confident of adding to that tally going forward, which is easily possible, with the defender aged 30.

The former Manchester United youth academy graduate made 13 appearances in the Premier League for West Brom and many supporters thought the club were making a mistake in selling him.

The Baggies were then relegated to the Championship, where they came up against Chester, and although Darren Moore's side are flying high in the league table, they could certainly benefit from having someone of his quality in their back line.
