Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Matej Vydra this summer, with the Whites looking to strike a deal with Derby County for the forward.

Vydra was the Sky Bet Championship’s leading goalscorer last season with 21 goals, with the 26-year-old adding a further goal in the season’s cup competitions, finishing the campaign with 22 to his name.

Marcelo Bielsa is keen to get Vydra on board at Elland Road, with Alan Nixon providing an update on Leeds’ quest to sign the forward this morning.

The reliable journalist confirmed that Leeds valued Vydra at £8m.

Derby are looking to make a significant profit on the £8m they spent on Vydra in 2016, according to reports.

As expected, talk of Leeds’ £8m valuation received plenty of reaction from Derby’s supporters…

Leeds’ valuation of Vydra has been laughed off by Derby’s supporters, with it hard to see why the Rams would sell at such a low price, particularly after Vydra’s form last season.
