‘Tell the truth’, ‘Did they?’ – These Sheffield Wednesday fans are not impressed with Darren Moore claim after relegation

Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore had no complaints about the effort and commitment of his players despite their relegation this afternoon.

The Owls knew they needed to win at Derby County to have any chance of staying up, but they couldn’t manage it, with a Martyn Waghorn penalty with just over ten minutes to go the final goal in a 3-3 thriller.

Speaking to the club’s media after the game, Moore was understandably gutted about how the game played out, however he had sympathy for the group after the way they played.

Individually, they will be asking themselves questions in there, replaying the game in their minds, there is very little you can say to console them. They left everything out there today.”

Yet, that assessment is not one that the Wednesday fans would necessarily agree with, and they certainly have complaints with the attitude and application of the squad over the course of the season.
