With football grinding to a complete halt in the UK over the past week and for the foreseeable future, clubs have been taking the time to reminisce on past seasons and players, including Hull City.
The Tigers have had some ‘topsy-turvy’ years recently, teetering in and out of the Premier League over the past 15 years, with their current Championship status not yet confirmed for the wrong reasons.
There have been a lot of fond memories at the KCOM Stadium in that time, with a lot of very talented players coming in and out of the doors, including the likes of Harry Maguire and Andrew Robertson.
Creating memories and moments at the other end of the pitch was Uruguayan international Abel Hernandez who joined the club from Palermo back in 2014. The striker spent four years with the Tigers before making the move to Russia with CSKA Moscow on the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2018.
In those four years, Hernandez was part of the squad as they fell to relegation from the Premier League in 2015, to then help them to an immediate promotion via the play-offs the following campaign. Hull’s ‘yo-yo-ing’ wasn’t done there as they only lasted a single season in the top flight, to drop down for the 2017/18 season.
That season was to be his last before his contract expired, but he left with a lot of admiration from the fans and they still remember him fondly after some great performances.
The club have looked back on some historic moments in their history and took to Twitter to see which moment the fans thought was Hernandez’s best in a Tigers strip.

Goal vs Burnley on Boxing Day. Something from nothing. World-class finish. Bring him back for Blackpool away in 2021.
