Derby County will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Blackburn Rovers this evening.

Frank Lampard’s men fell to a 1-0 reverse way to Rotherham United last Saturday afternoon after a run of three wins in a row.

The Rams finished that match with ten men after a controversial straight red card for Tom Lawrence before Lampard was also sent off, this time to the stands for remonstrating too vehemently towards the referee.

Derby will need to put that disappointment behind them and look ahead to this evening.

And after a defeat changes could be in the offing, with one confirmed changed in the absence of Lawrence who will serve a suspension.

With that said, here is the starting XI we expect Frank Lampard to deploy against Blackburn Rovers as he looks to get three points and back on the winning track after the weekend’s defeat.

A Championship ever-present for Derby County this campaign, registering two clean-sheets, Scott Carson is expected to keep his place in goal this evening.

An unused substitute in the defeat to Rotherham, Scott Malone is expected to come back into the left-back spot for this evening’s fixture against Blackburn Rovers.

The young defender is doing a solid job deputising for captain Curtis Davies, and with a lack of centre-half cover, Fikayo Tomori should realistically keep his stop for the Pride Park clash with Blackburn Rovers.

Captain in place of the injured Curtis Davies, the defender is finding form and understanding his role under Frank Lampard after what was a poor start to the season for him.

Richard Keogh should again adorn the armband and keep his place this evening.

With the games coming thick and fast, and young Jayden Bogle just back in the side after injury, he could be rested this evening in favour of Andre Wisdom.

He has made four appearances in the league so far, and with the Rams having six games in 16 days rotation could play a part in Frank Lampard’s team selection.

Despite being taken off in the defeat to Rotherham, Tom Huddlestone could yet keep his place for this evening’s visit of Blackburn to Pride Park.

Saturday was his first Championship appearance of the season, and he could be set to retain his place by Frank Lampard for the match this evening.

The Chelsea loanee has been one of the star performances for the Rams this season and has been a Championship ever-present for Frank Lampard.

Two games without a goal is the joint longest the attacking midfielder has gone in the league this season without a goal and he is expected to start once more as he looks to add to his tally of three league goals.

Bradley Johnson has featured in six of the seven league fixtures so far this season and played in the Rotherham defeat at the weekend.

He is the muscle in the Rams’ midfield and is expected to retain his place for tonight’s clash with Tony Mowbray’s side.

Back from injury, the Liverpool loanee could start for the Rams in place of the suspended Tom Lawrence.

It could be risky to start the young attacker but it is the perfect tonic for the returnee to get much-needed match fitness.

Since coming into the first-team, the Dutch attacker has been impressive and has consolidated his role in the starting XI.

Florian Jozefzoon is expected to continue from the start in the visit of Blackburn tonight, and play in the right forward role.

Having not been selected to be one of the 20 men to travel to the New York Stadium, David Nugent is set to return to the side this evening when the Rams take on Blackburn.

The striker has made five appearances in the Championship this season and scored once - and he could well be in line for a start tonight.
