There has been plenty of attention on Charlton Athletic this month as the arrival of their new owners brings with it expectations of cash-splashing.

So far, however, it has all been slightly underwhelming.

Aston Villa forward Andre Green is the only new face to come through the door at The Valley whilst the loss of Connor Gallagher in midfield has also left a very sour taste with the fans.

But rumours of a new recruit emerged on Sunday Evening with Tottenham Hotspur's Troy Parrott a target for Lee Bowyer as he looks to bolster his front-line, according to The Daily Mail.

Here, we take a look at THREE potential knock-on effects of Charlton bringing in the striker...

Davison bumped down

Josh Davison has impressed plenty of fans in recent weeks after stepping up to first-team duties with the likes of Lyle Taylor and Macauley Bonne sidelined with injuries.

He scored his first goal for the club against West Brom recently but it is likely, given his age, that he would return to the Addicks' under-23 set-up with the arrival of Parrott.

It is unlikely that the Tottenham loanee is going to be anywhere other than firmly in the first-team picture, afterall.

Taylor clear to leave

With a striking reinforcement brought in, it could well clear the way for the Addicks star marksman to leave this month.

Taylor has rejected new terms at the club on more than one occasion and it looks very much like he is open to a move away in the current window.

The board may well feel that they now have adequate options in attack to stay up without in and so could be tempted to cash in on the striker now, rather than letting him leave for free in the summer.

Toney on hold

It is a move that probably also spells the end of any potential move for Ivan Toney this month.

Having scored 20 goals already this season, the Peterborough United striker is one of the Football League's hottest properties at the moment with Charlton one of the teams involved in the chase.

But it looks like it will take a significant fee to pry him away from The Posh this month so perhaps turning to Parrott is a stop-gap between now and the summer, where they may well move for Toney again.
