Gillingham have released twelve players including Steven Gregory, Myles Weston and Charlie Lee after the clubs 17th place finish in League 1.
A statement made by the club read: “Gillingham FC would like to thank all the players who are leaving the club for their hard work and dedication while with us, and we wish them the best of luck in their future”.
George Howard, Sam Baxter, Joe Carter, Adam Birchall, Gary Borrowdale, Craig Fagan, Sam Muggleton and Stephen Butcher were also released by the club with Nathan Nyafli forced to announce his retirement in February due to injury.
Adebayo Akinfenwa and Chris Whepdale have been offered new deals by Peter Taylor and he will be looking to recruit over the summer to try and improve on last years campaign. Stuart Nelson and Danny Kedwell have already put pen to paper on two year deals.
Former England Under 21s manager Taylor started his second spell with Gillingham last October having previously managed the club in 1999.
