Josh Brownhill scored a dramatic injury-time winner as Bristol City returned to winning ways against Charlton with a 2-1 success.

The Robins were looking to bounce back from their miserable 3-0 defeat to Luton on the weekend, and Brownhill made sure of this when he latched on to Kasey Palmer's long ball before drilling it beyond Dillon Phillips.

Lee Johnson's side had initially fallen behind courtesy of Macauley Bonne's second-half effort, but Famara Diedhiou then equalised for the Ashton Gate outfit before Brownhill's 98th-minute strike.

The Bristol City captain has played every minute for his side this season, and he delivered a complete performance at the centre of midfield against the Addicks which he managed to cap off with a pivotal goal.

His Robins team-mate Taylor Moore has now taken to Twitter to share an amusing video which he claimed the resembled Brownhill arriving for training this morning after he scored the winning goal last night.

Moore and Brownhill have both been reliable presences for the Robins this season, with the pair making 11 and 13 appearances respectively during City's impressive start to the season which has taken them to fourth in the table.

The Verdict

Brownhill produced an excellent performance even before he popped up to net a memorable winning goal, and he has again proved to be an enormous presence at the heart of City's midfield this term.

This amusing video reflects the strong team spirit within the Robins' squad, and they will be aiming to use this trait as their springboard to success in the Championship this campaign.

Johnson has now had plenty of time to work with this group of players, and he will now surely be targeting a serious promotion push with his side after three years at the club.
