Talks begin: Leeds United edging closer to deal involving midfielder

Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi is discussing a move to Italian side Ascoli after being given permission to talk to the Serie B side.

Manager Steve Evans told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the 27-year-old is speaking to the club regarding a potential loan move, with a view to a permanent deal in the future.

Bianchi, who joined the Championship side from Sassuolo in 2014, hasn’t featured for the Elland Road club this season, despite being a regular for the 2014-15 campaign.

The Italian has struggled with a series of knee injuries over the last year, suffering cruciate ligament damage towards the end of last season before sustaining a second injury during pre-season.

Former Leeds loanees Zan Benedicic and Dario del Fabro also play for Ascoli, who were promoted to the second tier in Italy last season.

The Yorkshire club currently occupy 16th spot in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 35 points from 28 league games.
