According to the Birmingham Mail, Adama Traore has told Roberto Di Matteo that he wants to leave Aston Villa this summer.
Di Matteo held talks with the former Barcelona winger following Villa’s 3-0 triumph over Rotherham and the upshot of the discussion appears to be that Traore wants out.
This news has been confirmed by Dr Tony Xia’s tweet.
The 20-year-old joined Aston Villa last summer but was used less frequently than Villa fans may have hoped.
In his few games, he showed glimpses of his tremendous potential which saw him highly regarded at Spanish giants Barcelona.
The former Spain under-19 international – who also qualifies to play for Mali – has had previous issues with his discipline. Roberto Di Matteo had apparently planned for Adama to play a huge part in Aston Villa’s promotion chase this season so will be disappointed with the young wide man’s response.
Adama’s next club remains to be seen but he has made it clear that he does not see a future at Villa Park.
Aston Villa fans – what do you think? Would you be disappointed to let Adama go? Or should you get rid of players who don’t want to be at the club?
