Ezgjan Alioski has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message having won the Sky Bet Championship goal of the month award for August.

Leeds United moved to sign Alioski over the summer, with the Macedonian international making an instant impact at Elland Road in the Championship.

The 25-year-old has three assists across all competitions, and has scored one goal, which came against Nottingham Forest in late August.

That strike at the City Ground has been selected as August’s goal of the month in the Championship, with Alioski taking to Twitter to shortly after receiving his award to acknowledge the effort of his teammates.

Alioski has been a key part of Leeds’ fast start to the Championship season, with the winger featuring in six of the club’s seven league fixtures so far.

Thomas Christiansen’s side top the Championship at this current stage, and remain unbeaten after five victories and two draws from the opening stages.

Following back-to-back victories at Elland Road in the last week, Leeds now travel away from home for this weekend’s fixtures.

Christiansen’s side travel to The Den to face Millwall, who have only managed one victory in the Championship so far this season.

The Verdict

Alioski’s goal against Forest was an extremely clinical finish, with the Macedonian international giving the goalkeeper no chance with a fierce strike from outside the area.

However, it was Kalvin Phillips who initially won the ball back for Leeds, creating the chance for Alioski.

Leeds’ teamwork has been key to their success this season, with Christiansen’s side particularly impressive defensively, working as a unit from front to back – something that will be key if they are to maintain their push for promotion.
