Portsmouth battled to a hard-fought victory over Bolton on Saturday, as they climbed ever closer to the top six.

Pompey rode their luck at times but a solitary goal from Christian Burgess means that the side sit outside of the play-offs on goal difference.

Kenny Jackett is currently enduring a good run of form from his side and there’s no reason why the club can’t compete for a place in the Championship come the end of the campaign.

It wasn’t the prettiest of performances from the side but in the end three points were guaranteed to go back to the south-coast on Saturday.

The team has tried to be more attacking in recent weeks and Ellis Harrison started upfront with John Marquis on Saturday, although both failed to get on the scoresheet.
