Plenty of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to react to the reports that the club are interested in signing Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp.

Sky Sports reported yesterday evening that the veteran striker will be allowed to leave Sheffield Untied this month - if he wants to - and named Forest as one of the clubs who have enquired about his availability.

The Daily Star have since reported, though, that Sharp is not interested in joining another club and that he is willing to stay and fight for his place at Bramall Lane.

Forest have made a promising start to the Championship season and are currently fourth in the league table, although head coach Sabri Lamouchi is keen to sign a new striker this month to provide backup to top scorer Lewis Grabban.

Sharp scored eleven goals in 40 appearances for Forest during a loan spell at the City Ground during the 2012-13 season and many Reds supporters took to social media last night to react to the recent transfer rumours.

Jim Flemming: "Scored some excellent goals for Forest. One against Wolves was brilliant."

Andrew Marshall: "Defo have him back good player who will get u goals did it before for us and I’m sure he will do it again."

Andrew Commons: "I’d take him, a replacement for Grabban when he’s not having the best of games or could play alongside him too!"

Patricia Rosemary Bullock: "I would welcome him back."

Kevin Smedley: "Take him in a heartbeat!!"

Brian Greensmith: "Think he was played out of position a few times for us, but he was still class."

Nick Glover: "He’s got ability and could do a job no doubt but I question his mental attitude at times. Also has the ability to upset a dressing room in a heart beat from what I’ve read in the past. Considering we seem to be together as a team for the first time in a while could be a risk."
