Sunderland are enduring a shocking league campaign so far as they sit in 23rd spot in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Manager Chris Coleman will be looking ahead to the January transfer window and identifying players he can sign or loan in to help their chances of survival.

Chelsea have a large squad, and there are players that could really help enhance the Black Cats' squad if they made the switch from Stamford Bridge to the Stadium of Light.

Which Chelsea players should Coleman be keeping tabs on ahead of January?

We discuss....

Alfie Burns

You’d be expecting Coleman to be looking at some of the Welsh youngsters he has helped to bring through over the years, so a move for Ethan Ampadu could be a real possibility.

Ampadu has real quality in either midfield or defence, and Coleman will know what the 17-year-old is like to work with, having handed him his Wales debut not long ago.

The cauldron of the Stadium of Light would be a big test for the former Exeter youngster.

Adam Simeoni

Coleman needs a little more creativity in his side, so perhaps a move for Kylian Hazard could work out.

The 22-year-old has yet to show what he has in English football, but has impressed in the reserve side this season.

The younger brother of Eden, Kylian has talent in his blood, and needs to be given an opportunity to prove that he can make a name for himself.

Sunderland could afford him just that.

Chris Gallagher

Jake Clarke-Salter could improve the defence.

Chris Coleman may prefer experience, but the youngster would make the Black Cats a lot more solid.

He spent a part of last year on loan at Bristol Rovers and may now be ready to handle the demands of the Championship.

George Dagless

Well Ethan Ampadu would be a start.

If Chris Coleman wasn't at Sunderland I'd say that there would be no chance of such a move happening.

However, Coleman is there, he knows Ampadu, and so a move could work - Take a punt Coleman!
