Conor Hourihane starred for the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday evening when his first-half free-kick proved to be the difference in their win over Georgia.
Mick McCarthy’s men made it back-to-back wins in their first two Euro 2020 qualifiers seeing off Gibraltar last Saturday.
Hourihane has impressed for Villa at times this season and was on form for the Emerald Isle ahead of the Championship returning this weekend.
Villa will take on Blackburn Rovers at home on Saturday aiming to extend their stay in the play-offs with a handful of games remaining.
The 28-year-old added to his man of the match performance at the weekend with a solid display for Ireland last night, and that will surely please his manager Dean Smith ahead of the crucial run in.
With that said, here’s how the Villa supporters reacted on social media to his match-winning performance last night in the Euro 2020 qualifier over Georgia at the Aviva Stadium last night.

Delighted for @ConorHourihane, he’s been playing a blinder for Villa lately.

I leapt to my feet and shouted ‘yes’ – my girlfriend (who was reading beside me) said she’d never seen me cheer at football so much. Great for Ireland and Mick McCarthy, bodes well for #avfc too. Take a bow @ConorHourihane https://t.co/hONk7lH2AY
