Last season saw Wigan Athletic finish in 18th place and 12 points clear of the relegation places in their first campaign back in the second-tier following their promotion from League One.

Paul Cook will be determined to steer them further up the standings this time around and added a third summer signing to their squad in the form of Everton full-back Antonee Robinson.

Having spent the previous season on loan with the Latics, the 21-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the DW Stadium on Monday night.

Rising through the ranks of the Toffees' youth sides, Robinson was sent out on loan for the first time during the 2017/18 campaign where he impressed with Bolton Wanderers.

But it was last season where he truly shone, racking up 26 appearances for the Latics and earning himself a call-up to United States national side, for whom he has now made seven apperances.

And it is safe to say that the fans were impressed with the deal as well as the way it was announced...
