Controversial Peterborough United manager Steve Evans was sacked by Posh yesterday, along with his assistant Paul Raynor.

They're currently sixth in the League One table, but have fallen away from the title race after some scintillating early season form. They were held 0-0 at home by play-off challengers Charlton yesterday, with Evans dismissed just hours later.

That comes on the back of an FA charge for comments made about the referee after their 4-0 hammering at Luton Town last weekend. Controversy has followed Evans throughout his career, but not for any longer. Certainly not at London Road.

He only took over from Grant McCann last season, leaving Mansfield Town in the play-off spots in League Two to take over the reigns. He remodelled the side in the summer but has seen his side win just three times in League One since the end of October.

There's certainly a feeling on Twitter that it's the right move by the club, as can be seen in a host of their responses this morning.
