Swindon Town have rejected a bid from Rotherham for Australian midfielder Massimo Luongo, according to the BBC.
It has been reported that the newly promoted Championship side have offered Swindon £600,000 for Luongo’s services. However Swindon value the Australia international at a much higher price than they have been offered.
Luongo originally joined Swindon on loan from Tottenham back in March 2013, the midfielder scored once in seven league appearances as the club made the League One play-offs that season.
After re-joining the club on loan again last summer, the 21 year-old agreed a three-year deal to sign permanently for Mark Cooper’s side. Luongo was influential last season as Swindon narrowly missed out on the League One play-offs.
Thus far this summer Swindon have failed to add new players to their squad, they would be loathe to see any departures at this stage in the transfer window.
By contrast, Steve Evans has already signed 11 new players as the Millers gear up for their first season in the Championship since the 2004/05 season.
