Swindon Town are lining up a swoop for Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd, reports the Western Daily Press.
There has been contact between the two clubs and talks over a move to the County Ground have taken place.
However, it is unclear whether Swindon want to sign the defender on loan or on a permanent basis.
El-Abd, who has still two years to run on his contract at Ashton Gate, rarely featured in City’s double-winning season and has fallen down the pecking order.
He doesn’t appear to be involved in the plans of manager Steve Cotterill, who is said to be looking to sign a new central defender this summer.
Paying a fee could to be a problem for Swindon, but City are considering cancelling his contract to get him off the books.
The 30-year-old was a regular in the side after joining from Brighton in January 2014, until being sent off in a game against Peterborough United towards the end of the 2013/14 season and played no part in the final five matches of the campaign.
He made just two appearances for the Ashton Gate outfit last season before seeing out the season at Bury from November onwards.
