Reading and Leeds festival gets underway this weekend, with youngsters descending on Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park.

Of course, it isn’t just the yearly music festivals that give Reading and Leeds so much publicity at the end of August, with the two football clubs competing in the Sky Bet Championship.

Both were in action last night, as Reading were held to a 1-1 draw by West Bromwich Albion, whilst Leeds United edged past Brentford 1-0 at Elland Road.

Here at FLW, we’ve put our thinking caps on and put together a combined XI from the two football clubs to celebrate this weekend’s music festivals...

In goal, we’ve opted for Leeds’ Spanish goalkeeper, Kiko Casilla, who has conceded just twice in his five appearances across all competitions this season.

We’ve opted for a 5-3-2 formation, which Reading use, as that allows us to shoehorn in some of the attacking talent both sides possess.

However, we start in defence, with Andy Yiadom and Liam Moore our selections from Jose Gomes’ Royals.

The impressive Ben White, who is looking good for Leeds, and Barry Douglas, join them.

In the middle of our defence is Kalvin Phillips, with the Leeds midfield anchor capable of playing here.

Ahead of him is teammates, Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich, with Ovie Ejaria joining them in a three-man midfield.

Our attack has George Puscas from Reading and Patrick Bamford from Leeds, with the pair both notching three goals across all competitions for their respective sides.

Such is the depth at both Reading and Leeds, John Swift, Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah are some of the forwards to miss out.

Whilst that trio are amongst the players not to make the cut in our side, they’ve got busy weekend ahead, as Reading take on Huddersfield Town and Leeds head to Stoke City.
