One player who has really made a breakthrough for Swansea City this term is 21-year-old winger Jordan Garrick, who has put in a series of eye catching performances this campaign under the stewardship of Steve Cooper.

Garrick of course progressed through the club's youth academy to make his first team debut back at the start of the current season, with the wide man having now played a part in seven first team games, whilst finding the net on one occasion.

Despite his strong start to the campaign, Garrick's progress has recently been curtailed after he sustained a hamstring injury that will keep him out of action for around about three months.

It comes as a blow for the youngster, who will surely be feeling disheartened by the point in time that the setback came about.

Garrick's spirits won't have been improved any further by a report by the The Scottish Sun that suggests the Swans are interested in securing the services of 18-year-old Scottish winger Owen McGinty this January, with the former Glasgow Rangers player currently a free agent.

Despite the fact that McGinty is relatively inexperienced at first team level, Garrick will be wary of the increased competition for places that would be brought about if the Scotsman arrived at the Liberty Stadium, with the likes of Nathan Dyer and Andre Ayew already in the pecking order for right wing role.

Garrick will be keen to return to full fitness as soon as possible, so that the 21-year-old can prove to Cooper that he deserves to be given more starting opportunites in the coming weeks and months.

Meanwhile, attentions for Swansea turn to this weekend's clash, with the south Wales outfit hosting Gary Rowett's Millwall in what is sure to be an intriguing tie between two inconsistent sides of late.
