Swansea have lacked a real goalscorer since Wilfried Bony left the club first time around in January 2015, and they have witnessed many strikers come and go at The Liberty Stadium across the past four years who have failed to do the business.

However, the Swans now have two quality Championship options in Borja Baston and Sam Surridge, who have both had impressive starts to their individual seasons despite both playing under different circumstances.

Baston has a real point to prove this campaign after failing for the Swans while in the Premier League, but he has hit the ground running under new manager Steve Cooper this season as he has netted six goals in 13 Championship appearances.

On the flip side, Baston's backup Surridge, who arrived on loan from AFC Bournemouth in the summer for his first regular season in the second tier, is yet to get the starts that he craves and deserves in this Swansea side, however two league goals in ten Championship appearances isn't bad going for the 21-year-old.

Swansea supporters will be pleased that former England under-17 manager Cooper, who was appointed in the summer after Graham Potter departed for Brighton & Hove Albion, has been able to get Baston firing after the Spaniard spent last season on loan with Alaves in his native homeland, while also recruiting the hungry Surridge.

England youth international Surridge has proven that he is hungry and motivated to do well this season, and that he is ready to learn while the experienced Baston provides that helping hand to the loanee as he settles down into life as a Championship regular.

The fans of the Championship club won't be fussed with which striker gets the opportunity to lead the line on matchdays with the likes of Andre Ayew around them providing that creative spark, as Baston and Surridge are both similar players and bring that height, physicality and threat in the box to the Swans side.

Swansea supporters will be hoping that both can continue the fine starts to the season that they have managed to endure so far this campaign, and will be backing both as the pair fight for the same common goal: to get Swansea back to the Premier League.
