Swansea star Ayew issues message to fans after frustrating Blackburn draw

Swansea City’s Andre Ayew took to Instagram earlier today to discuss last night’s 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

Steve Cooper’s Swansea are now five games without a win, having taken 15 points from their last 15 games in the Championship.

It’s thrown them out of the top-six and left them strewn in 11th-place, now three points off the top-six and 15 off the automatic play-off places.

Last night was another frustrating one for Swansea. They hosted an in-form Blackburn side who’d won their last four going into South Wales, and they had the lead after just four minutes through Danny Graham.

Before the ten-minute mark the game would have it’s second goal and Ayew his fifth of the season, who scored the equaliser for the home side.

This is what the Ghanaian posted on his Instagram earlier today:

It was a game which ended in controversy with Cooper claiming that last night’s referee Jeremy Simpson will be officiating in the non-league next season, after the Swans were denied two penalties in the second-half.

Both teams also finished with ten-men – Tom Carroll picking up a second yellow in the second-half and Dack doing the same for Rovers.

Which player scored 50 goals during his 100 appearances for the club between 2007 and 2009?

Swansea now have just three wins in their last 15 Championship games, and any hopes they had of promotion this season look all but gone.

The verdict

It was a game between two sides who on their day can beat anyone, and in the end a draw was probably a fair result. Rovers went into the game on the better form of the two and Swansea can be pleased with a point.

Cooper though would’ve wanted the home win and was left reeling at refereeing decisions last night, as his luck in South Wales continues to falter.
