Swansea City could sign two midfielders today, according to a reliable football journalist.

Alan Nixon is reporting on Twitter that Swansea could announce Nottingham Forest's Barrie McKay and Manchester City's Bersant Celina as soon as today.

The Sun journalist believes that McKay is "done" and Celina is "now very likely", while Man City striker Lukas Nmecha could also join with a "decision later".

McKay is reportedly moving from Nottingham Forest to Swansea after a £500,000 transfer fee was accepted.

The 23-year-old joined the Reds last summer and ended with a tally of five goals and seven assists in 26 matches but was frozen out by Aitor Karanka.

After a move to Olympiacos fell through, the former Rangers winger is now closing in on a permanent move to South Wales to join Swansea.

Graham Potter is also edging closer to completing the signing of Man City youngster Celina in a deal worth around £3m.

The Kosovo international spent last season on loan at Ipswich, impressing with some wonder goals as he scored eight times in 35 games.

Swansea are hoping to bring the 21-year-old in on a permanent deal before battling Blackburn Rovers for his team-mate Nmecha.

The Verdict

Celina's Championship experience and raw talent would make him a shrewd long-term addition for the Swans.

McKay could also thrive in a new environment after stuttering at Nottingham Forest.

Nmecha could be a decent back-up to Oli McBurnie, especially if Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Bony leave.
