Swansea City defender, Connor Roberts, has stated that Saturday's victory at Elland Road was one of his 'best moments in a Swansea shirt'.

Steve Cooper's side remain unbeaten going into the international and sit pretty at the top of the league with 16 points.

Wayne Routledge scored the winning goal on Saturday, as the Swans inflicted a first defeat of the season on Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United.

Roberts and Swansea will be hoping that they can come back in the same form after the international break as they return to the Liberty Stadium to face Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to swanseacity.com, Roberts said: "It was right up there with the best moments I’ve had in a Swansea shirt.

"Personally, I didn’t think I played that well but it’s about the team as a whole and not just one person.

“Before the game, we were saying that a point would be brilliant – let alone a win – so to come away with that result is unbelievable.

“We have to keep building now. We’ve set the bar now and can’t take our feet off the gas; we have to keep going.

"There was a lot of confidence before the game and at half-time. We knew we had to just keep defending, breaking their play up and, hopefully, get that chance, which we did and it was a good finish from Wayne.”

The Verdict

It's unsurprising that it was one of Roberts' best moments in a Swansea shirt. A last minute winner is always great, but away from home at one of the best teams in the League made the victory even sweeter for Cooper's side.

It has been a great start to the season for Swansea, and they would've perhaps surprised a few as they sit top of the Championship table and unbeaten.

The confidence that the side has is excellent and Roberts showed that in what he spoke about after the game. It'll be interesting to see whether Cooper and his energetic team can carry on this wonderful run.
