Swansea boss Graham Potter says the future of on loan centre back Cameron Carter-Vickers is out of his hands, even if he is full of praise for the 21-year-old.

Carter-Vickers has won plenty of admirers at the Liberty Stadium with his performances since joining on loan from Tottenham in August, making 24 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Welsh side.

Speaking about the future of the centre back, Potter told Wales Online: "He's a Tottenham player. We've been delighted with Cam on and off the pitch but ultimately he's still their player.

"We'll play the season out and then have those discussions and give feedback because that's important as well. But until then there's been no conversations."

Reflecting on Carter-Vickers' contribution since his arrival at The Liberty, Potter added: "But he's been top, he played his role when he wasn't in the team because of Joe and Mike and he's taken his chance when Joe got injured.

"On and off the pitch he's been brilliant and I think he's played a really important part in what we've done."

Swansea also have several players, including Jefferson Montero and both Ayew brothers out on loan, and speaking about their futures, Potter revealed: "We're in dialogue and we're chatting with them but nothing to report.

"Of course we're monitoring what they're doing and speaking to the clubs and trying to work out what the best thing for everybody is to do."

The verdict

You can see why Swansea would be interested in keeping Carter-Vickers at the club given his performances this season, but that could be difficult. Others will have taken notice of his performances and with Spurs' own centre back situation looking uncertain come the summer, the 21-year-old may even sense an opportunity back in London.
