As per a report from Football Insider, Swansea City are looking at 28-year-old winger Thievy Bifouma as Steve Cooper looks to add to his options in the final third in the summer transfer window.

Bifouma has played 28 times for his international side, DR Congo, and has also been on these shores before - West Brom fans may remember him though he never really forced his way into the side during his time in the Black Country.

Currently, he plays on the continent with Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor and has scored six goals as well as adding two assists during his campaign in the top flight over there.

The report also claims that he is keen to come back to Britain and prove himself in the game here, which could be a boost to Swansea's chances of getting him - though other second-tier clubs are also thought to be keen on getting him here in the UK.

The Verdict

If Swansea are lacking anything it is perhaps an extra bit of experience with Cooper possessing a young side in south Wales at the moment.

At 28, Bifouma could quickly hit the ground running, especially with him possessing experience of the game in this country already.

It sounds like he wants to prove a point if he returns, too, so that could work in the Swans' favour if they get him.
