Ryan Woods is close to joining Swansea City, according to reports.
Swansea are edging closer to completing the signing of Woods from Brentford, according to HITC Sport.
The Swans have identified Woods as a key target to improve their central midfield options this summer and have returned with an improved offer of £6m plus add-ons.
Brentford are keen to keep the 24-year-old but the player is interested in a switch to Swansea.
Woods started his career with Shrewsbury Town, playing over 100 games for the club before his 2015 switch to West London.
He has played a starring role for the Bees over the past three Championship seasons, racking up more than 120 appearances for the club.
Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion are also interested in the midfielder, but Swansea are in a good position to capture him after returning with an improved bid.
Woods is an excellent signing and has the perfect blend of youth and experience.
At 24, he is now going to improve more and enter the prime of his career so he is a snip at £6m.
He is one of the most underrated players in the division and would be an asset for the Swans.
