January is always a busy time for football clubs around the world, and today will be no different for clubs within the Championship as some look to get crucial deals across the line.

All 24 managers within the second tier will have been analysing their squad over recent months, and deciding just where improvement is needed this month to try and reach their goals and fulfill the board's ambitions during the second half of the season.

As a football fan, it can be quite hard to keep up with all the rumours and potential deals swirling around, so here are three Championship deals to watch out for today...

Swansea - Conor Gallagher

Swansea City are reportedly close to completing the loan signing of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in a bid to strengthen their midfield options.

The 19-year-old has been on loan at Swansea's Championship rivals Charlton Athletic during the season, and impressed the coaching staff back at Stamford Bridge enough that they deemed him to be good enough to push himself at a side that is in the top half of the Championship.

With this deal close to being completed and Swansea hoping to have it done by the weekend, it is a deal to watch out for today as the relevant parties look to find a deal that is suitable for both player and club.

Fulham - Jordan Archer

The goalkeeper was released by Oxford United after a one-month contract, and he is close to sealing a move to Championship side Fulham.

Cottagers manager Scott Parker has made his move for the 26-year-old quickly, and Archer has reportedly completed a medical and agreed personal terms with the club sat fourth in the second tier.

Fulham will now attempt to put the finishing touches on this deal, and an announcement could be imminent with Archer close to getting his Craven Cottage move.

QPR - Jack Clarke

The 19-year-old winger had a tough first half of the season on loan at Leeds United, only making three appearances at his boyhood club on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Jose Mourinho made the decision to recall the youngster back to the Premier League club, but is attempting to send him back out on loan to the Championship with an extensive list of interest in the teenager,

Mark Warburton and QPR look to have beaten the likes of Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Millwall and Derby County for Clarke's signature, and with the Hoops wanting a deal done by the weekend, they will be seeking to thrash out a deal as quickly as possible, because Warburton will want to get this one over the line sooner rather than later.
